CSP Swap…PT II

It looks as though the Twitter CSP Swap is starting to gain a little steam. I have received 3 patches from around the country…one from JTHoppe, one from OKCScouter and one from SM_Phil. I know that there are more coming, and I am really happy to see that we are still able to do something that is so simple, but people don’t think twice about doing.

I have read many blog posts, tweets, FB posts about commenting about staying connected with today’s social media. Just think about 100 hundred years ago, the quickest way to receive information was either mail or telegraph…the telephone wasn’t very mainstream, and the term “internet” was only used by fishermen…”Put da fish internet”…

So, Scout Nation…let’s keep this going…for those who want to get onboard, it’s really easy. My address is public, and you can DM me if you would like it…send me your address or send a patch with a return address. I will send one back in return.

It’s the simple things…

Scout Nation Fit Club

Wow, it’s been a couple weeks since the end of the 100 Days of Scouting, and the beginning of 100 Days Strong. I have been doing pretty well, and I am pleased to say that I am 1/5th on my way to my goal…only 79 more pounds to go and I can make Philmont weight…it’s going to be a stuggle, but in the end, I know that I will be happy with the results.

I am posting about the new Scout Nation Fit Club…it’s in the works, and we have some great ideas in mind. The whole point of the club will be so much more than losing weight…it’s gonna involve a life-change. I don’t know about most of you, but I know that I need a life change in regards to my diet and my activity. Preaching about being strong and physically fit, while hardly being able to bend over and tie my shoes, isn’t something that I am proud of, and I am making the necessary adjustments to change that.

Diet and exercise…nothing complicated, but some days are harder than others…feeling hungry or not wanting to work out are constant struggles. In the end, everyone will be happier for all the effort.

OK, so onto the Scout Nation Fit Club…the rules will be along these lines…

* A form will be published online that will link you a public spreadsheet; enter in your information weekly
* Each week, the contestant with the most weight loss will be entered into the monthly drawing
* The first week of the month, one winner will be drawn and get a prize…t-shirt, book, patch or other cool items
* One winner  per household, please…but if you are kicking butt, then you could win every week of the month and get the monthly prize
* Monthly prize will be chosen at random…the point isn’t the “material” prize, it’s the life changes that you are making

There will be more rules to come, along with a website to track it all…we are still putting it together, and Scoutmaster Bryan has been busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger…hence the delay in last month’s Scout Nation, Show 5…but there will be 2 shows in June, to make up for it…

Thanks for reading!
