>Today, I have decided to take a look back at some of the things that make me do this scouting thing. Later on tonight, I am going to be enjoying some skits and songs at Cub Scout Camp, at the last session of the summer.
Speaking of that, it’s really hard to believe that summer is almost over. I haven’t had a lot of summer, seems that it has been taken up by work, and the only real time that I truly enjoyed my summer was when I was at Webelos Camp with Ethan. I came back recharged and ready to tackle the scouting world. And I am still at that point.
The energy level, has subsided a bit….mostly due to long work hours and lack of being available to do anything scouting. We had our first committee meeting for the pack [one of my last ones] and came to a budget…the first in our time in the pack.
I also am getting more confident in the starting of the new troop, although I know that there are going to be hard feelings in the area. If I haven’t stated it, there is another troop in the area, and they have been our feeder troop for years, and now, there is some “competition” for them. They are not a bad troop, but I think that there are going to be more opportunities for the scouts in the area.
That’s all I have for now, as I wait to go to camp tonight to visit some scouts, see some skits, and sing some songs….
Keep your compass pointing in the right direction!
